NOLF2 Fun and Success

I've been trying to copy this game for a while, and predictably, I started with Blindwrite [If you are interested enough to read the details then here they are]. I failed. Taking the advice given by philamber I got a copy of BlackCheck's TwinPeak tool and started again.

First: Image the disk with CloneCD - As I have an LTD-163D I used that and the SecuROM NEW Lite-On profile from the sticky from this forum.

Second: Create a BWA file using BWA Builder 4.2.8 from BlindWrite Suite.

Third: Open TwinPeak, select the .CCD file and the .BWA file and set the Twin Sector Step, then patch the image.

Forth: Burn the patched image [called patched.ccd] with CloneCD using the SecuROM NEW Lite-On profile to my LTR-40125S.

Actually I created 4 BWA files and chose the best. 2 were created by my LTD-163D [at 8x and 12x] and were truely but the 2 from my LTR-40125S [both at 8x] were , so I chose the one with the shorter drop outs.

I tried with the default Twin Step value of 15, which authenticated the disk about 40% of the time and also 50, which worked for all the tests done thus far. Using the LTD-163D to play from. Authentication takes slightly longer than the original, but only a few seconds.

yeah that works allright

thats exactly how i did it clone -> BWA builder -> then twinpeaks and finally clone to burn the modified image. i used this on UT2003 and as soon as nolf2 is releases in this backwater ( new zealand ) i will do that too.

i originally found out about this method reading the cd-freak review of the liteon LTR-52246S which gave the basics
http://www.cdfreaks.com/document.php3?Doc=99&Page=9
to do the newest securom.

I have found that the 4.2.9 .bwa builder works a treat in a Litey at max

a few questions FutureProof

1.does the speed at which a bwa is made make any difference to the quality. ( i do it at 4* just in case )

2.i did lotr fellowship play disc ( securom 4.83.55 )and after patching with twin-peaks, clone didnt ask me to confirm toc size ?
went ahead and burnt it anyway onto a cdrw and it loaded and ran fine which brings me to:

3. does blindwrite install any emulation software ( i personally never use alcohol or hide cd-r media )

burner = liteon 40125S, ZSOP firmware
dvdrom = liteon LTD-166S, DS14 firmware

thanks for your time in advance

(1. Yes, but it's optimised for a Litey at max (3. Yes and it also writes it to CD-R like CloneCD (Emulate)

What I've noticed

I bought NOLF 2 in October 2002....and I just check the CD spirals the look fine not changed.....Hitman 2 has really changed spirals to stop a 1:1 copy......the easiest way to copy SecureROM new games for me is using WINISO make CD Image with ISO...then use Fireburner and burn to restore the orginal CD content....works everytime with any game even Safe Disk 2 cause you can skip the bad sectors just like Clone CD's Fast Error Skip....but I understand if you guys wanna experiment....Tell me this why is SecureROM and Safe Disk the only USA security I've ever come across? (lives in USA)

This method lets you make 1:1 copies of games protected by new Securom? No patches/cracks needed?
