Morrowind Tribunal

Has anyone gotten the expansion pack yet? If so were you able to back it up using CCD? What settings did you use? TIA

I just picked up Tribunal today. I don't think that the disc is protected at all... it seems that after you install Tribunal you still need to insert the original Morrowind CD to play (I tried starting the game with the Tribunal CD in and it asked for the Morrowind CD). So I think you'll be able to back up the disc with CloneCD using the normal data disc settings.

This seems weird, seeing as how if I wanted to I could just take my Tribunal CD and install it on all my friend's PCs who have Morrowind. You'd think there would be some protection.

Can anyone confirm this?

I copied it without any special settings at all in CCD, it did negate the no CD crack that I was using to play without having the original disk in my CD all the time, but other than that it appears to have no copy protection at all

I think Tribunal might actually get rid of the original Morrowind protection altogether (I mean the Safedisc protection - you still need the CD in to play), because running Safedisc Analyser or yates' protection scanner on the EXE with Tribunal installed reveals nothing.

Well I did have the newest pre-Tribunal patch installed, I must have never noticed that Safedisc was removed.

In any case Tribunal is a protection-free disc, the way all games should be.

running Morrowind:Tribunal w/o the cd in the drive

Hmm, okay then can someone clue me in as to how I might go about running Morrowind with the Tribunal add-on without the CD in my drive? I have purchased both, but safedisc or no safedisc I'd prefer not to leave the CD in my drive.

I would assume part of this would involve copying the videos to the hard drive. I checked the ini but saw no path there, just error messages to display if the CD is not in the drive. Is there something in the exe itself that checks for the CD that might be able to be hex edited out?

Thanks!

Well, the only legal method would be to either back up your Morrowind CD to your hard drive (as an image file) or back up your CD to a CD-R(W) and use the copy to play. If you have the hard drive space, I'd recommend making an image file and playing with that. You can use CloneCD or pretty much any other burning software (such as Alcohol or BlindWrite) to make an image file and then mount it with Daemon Tools. When you make an image, use Safedisc settings, because Morrowind originally used Safedisc 2.51 (I know Safedisc was removed, but it doesn't hurt to make a 1:1 copy that is playable even without the latest patch installed). Read more on these forums if you need help with making an image or ask here.

"Severe Catastrophy, Disk 1 CD" or something like that, I would ASSUME that would mean that I don't have the Tribunal CD so it can't install it, are there any No CD-Cracks available? Any help would be appreciated.
Buy the game. Period.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's all I can tell you.

Understandable

Understandable and understood, I would hope that borrowing it off my friend and using that disk would be okay? Yeah, see I was originally gonna buy it off my friend for like 10 bucks, but he wanted 20 and I didn't have the money so I turned to downloading it. When I saw that it wouldn't work, today I just traded him Magic cards for it. Took me about 20 bucks worth, but they were all useless cards to me.......no need to buy the game.....and they saying Magic is pathetic.......look what it got me. Sorry if I offended anyone, but ME GOT GAME NOW!! ME SO HAPPY! .............................Me go play now............................

Good for you. I don't think you offended anyone, you just went against forum rules. Just remember, we'll help you all we can if you need help backing up a game you own, or playing a backup of a game you own, but we won't help piracy.

So true.

If this was your first time (and it was if I'm correct) talking about "illegal" actions you don't have to worry.

If you keep doing it you'll get a PM from one of the moderators and if that doesn't help you'll be banned from the forums.

But it won't come this far because you wrote: Understandable and understood.

And buy the way: WELCOME to the forum.

Hope you learn something here and that you can tribute some knowlegde to.

Re: Morrowind Tribunal

Hi, clearly I'm a newbie, and I'm a huge fan of morrowind. I saw your reference to a no cd crack, and wanted to ask about it. I foolishly lent my cd to a friend to try it out, clearly he liked it quite a bit, as he has as yet failed to return it. I am in a terrible state of withdrawal, and knowing the game is installed in my pc but I can't play it is sheer torture. Could you tell me how to use a no cd crack, or where to find one? I shall be eternally indebted.

Sorry! I just realized this thread directly pertains to tribunal, but I dont currently have tribunal installed, just plain ol' morrowind.

Woah, way to resurrect an old thread. Anyway, no one mentioned where to get a no-CD crack. All we said was back up the game CD in order to play it without the original. No one is going to tell you where to get a no-CD crack. If you want one, you'll have to find one elsewhere on the internet.

Re: Morrowind Tribunal

Sorry, I hoped not to come across like I was trying to pull off something unethical. Milesc3 had mentioned something about having the no cd crack he was using negated. I guess I also didn't notice how old this thread was. Thanks for the time, didn't mean any offense, or to be any trouble.

Re: Morrowind Tribunal

okay, so i know this thread is ANCIENT, but so is my game. I currently own Morrowind and both expansions - I now have my wife hooked on the game! but the problem is this, I have more than one computer, and I'd love to play it again but it's hard to do when she is playing it all the time, so - what I've attempted to do is make an ISO of my game CD and run it with Daemon Tools so I can still play since I need the CD - but the problem is, it's not working. The game will start up like normal, but before it gets to the main title screen, the game shuts down

Maybe I did something wrong, but is it possible to even do this?
Any help would be great
Tom
