Anyone copied this and knows what protection , Clony XXL doesnt seem to like it !

Yes. The protection used on the oz release of Iron Storm is Ring Protech and it isn't all that difficult to copy with ccd.

Use a custom profile. Read: Fes on, IBBS on (set it for 500), everything else off. Write: Everything off (or check "Always close last session" if you feel you must.)

Well that didnt work , appears to be the protection you said (there is a ring near the outer of the cd) but the copy didnt work with your settings , at the end of reading it made some dummy files but there was a few bits found to be unreadable . Im using ccd4202 , Liteon 16xDVD as reader and Liteon 24102b as writer , FES set to hardware ! anyone else wanna have a stab , FP , how about you ?

hmm , seems original is being a pain to install as well so I best look for a different problem .

Exactly the same rig as what I used (and, yeah, the original takes an eternity to install so don't expect any better from the copy. Takes an eternity to uninstall too, btw.)

Always install off the orginal. Mine wouldn't run for a few weeks and it fixed itself - dunno what was wrong.

The settings philamber gave you are correct or you can use the LaserLock profile.

Thanks FP , it had worked after all , (thanks again Philamber) , after I ran the other .msi install file on the cd (think it was isscript.msi) , anyway , apparently that updated the installer for me as after that it installed no probs at all and runs fine .

Sorry, off-topic...is this a good enough game to buy? I could get it for my boyfriend (girl please!) and check out the protection! I heard that CloneCD is pretty good with this Ring protection (I might be able to sling a fact back at the Alcohol gurus

)

Backed up Iron Storm with just IBSS on (set to 500), no FES, nothing on for Write.

Installs and plays fine from back up, but it sure does take ages to install!

And yes, Bibs and Bobs, it's not a bad game...but worth the almost $100 Au asking price...debateable.

CloneCd is outstanding with this protection (as is discdump in laserlock mode) and alcohol is ... well ... hopeless. However, alcohol's developers are aware of the problem and working on it.
