Hi All!
Has anyone had any luck with backing up IGI2 (Safedisc 2.80.10)

I am using a LITEON LTR-32123S to both READ and WRITE.

So far, I've had 2 results -
1. Try to start game, CD is checked for ever (doesn't go anywhere)

2. CD is checked, then I get the old 'IGI2 has performed an illegal op...etc etc) with the following details:

IGI2 caused an invalid page fault in

I have tried Blindwrite, DDump with burnatonce, alcohol 120%, all to no avail.
I have managed to do freelancer, GTAIII, MOHAA etc, no worries, just not IGI2.

If you are playing the game from the burner then make sure ignore media type is enabled in alcohol 120%.

Somewhere I had read that the chip in 32 ltr's and below would not record safedisc 2.8 and above. The chip was changed in the 40 ltr's. So if you have let's say LTR-32123S or below, give up on copying safedisc 2.8 and above. It apparently is a hardware problem which means no software choice will make a difference. Would like to hear if you got any new info since you posted. I have LTR-32123S and have experienced the same problem w/ safedisc 2.8 and above. Not strange that the protection guys would target the "best" such that in the future it would prove to be the "worst."

I read that it was the 24x liteon that wouldnt work with 2.8 and above, but thats not relevant anyway, and I could be wrong.

I read that you tried Diskdump with burnatonce. diskdump works to make the image, but you need to use Fireburner to burn to disk. Has something to do with Fireburner being able to handle the Pregap situation in Safedisk 2.8/2.9/3.x.

They can do up to sd 2.8 but fail at sd 2.9 and above.

too bad he dont have a 32125W........(as a 48125W) it has no problems with 2.8/2.9 or even 3.10

I dont know if the 32123S is Upgradable but I think it wasnt....been a long time.
