@ambrico - if you had read the links I put into my posts you would have discovered that AWS is not enabled for US or JP locales; if you don't understand something can you let me know?

LOL! You must be really be Australian!

Download and install the tool. There are reports of US users with Liteon 32123S burners getting coasters. One member 'moved locale' to Canada, disabled AWS on the burner then 'moved' back to the US, and no more coasters!

I emailed Sven Rhode (ELBY Team Member) about this but he had not heard of it before. If you have one of the burners I listed, or maybe your burner has a Mediatek chipset, then this could be your problem.

Further, your burner may not work with AWS anyway...you gotta read the Sticky Posts and check off or fix everthing mentioned. You also have to pull your burner out and see what it is!

@ambrico - I have to go off-line now but G@M3FR3@K will be on soon and I'll PM OC-Freak, too.

I will send you a detailed PM in the next 6 hours about how we can work something out

Your writer is an acer(Now called benq) 20X writer.

This writer do not support Correct EFM encoding of regular bit-patterns(Which is needed to make SD2 backups without AWS).

I checked and there is no firmware updates availible for this drive.

Please set your region settings to somewhere outside US or Japan and enable AWS.

Then: play from a CD/DVD-ROM or play from a CD-Writer with Hide CD-R media enabled (found in the clonecd tray icon, only outside japan and us).

If it still do not work I think you may be unable to make working SD2 v2.51.021 backups. Not all writer could make working SD2 v2.51.021 even with AWS enabled.

I suggest you get a Lite-On since they could do correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns.

Asus is also good (But may be more expensive).
LG may also do the trick, but I don't know for sure.

Check out the hardware requirements for CloneCD: http://elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/writers/a.html

And look for two sheep on "Correct EFM encoding"

That would be the best yes.

You may get around it by using AWS in most cases though.
