on-the-fly

I have recently started to copy all my old dvd media onto spanky new TY media, using clonecd on-the-fly option. however, to say it is problematic is an understatement. when writing the disc/s it will constantly get to 100% and say done (it says done the instant it get's to 100% btw), what's the problem with that? well it doesn't actually write the leadout track for a start, in the log the leadout takes about 0 seconds, secondly no data is being written to the disc at all. wasted about enough media as I am willing to. i don't want to use alcohol, or nero however I did install alcohol and that copies them on-the-fly with no problems at all.

i am a bit baffled with this. used to use clone with no problems at all.

FYI, the media I am reading off is all TDK-003 media code, and it is good quality media and copies no problems in alcohol as I said. my reader is a pio 111L and writer is a 112L, both are in UDMA4 mode, on seperate IDE channels, both are masters, xp sp2, hope that is enough info.

Re: on-the-fly

I use CloneCD all the time to backup files under 4.3 gig or use a DL Disc for files larger. It has never failed me yet. I would try backing up your reg key. Then uninstalling and reinstalling the program. You should not be having any problems like you discribed. I would also try uninstalling Alcohol, I have seen compatibility problems like this before.

Re: on-the-fly

i did not even have alcohol installed until i hit this problem, so that is not the cause. i know it can cause issues, and even though it works i prefer clone because it sems better at handling discs that are marked, or have issues copying.
