| Flashing/upgrade the firmware/settings I am new to the burning world. Please forgive me. What does the term flash the burner mean and how do I do it? What is firmware and how do I upgrade it? I have an Acer Drive 12/8/32 and I can't seem to avoid making coasters. I am using Imation media. What is a quality media catalogue and how do I know if I have one? I was able to burn one cd and now I can't make it work. What settings should I use for Macromedia Flash 5? Will clone cd interfere with easy cd creater 4? Should I uninstall easy cd creater 4? I always get a power calibration error. |

| putting it plain flashing is reprogramming the firmware. Firmware is the software of your drive that makes it run so to speak. When it comes to flashing drives there is one rule to live by. If it isn't broke don't fix it. What you have to remember is that you can flash the ROM of your drive and have something like the power go out, or more common flash useing the worng update and then you end up with a nice door stop. For the most part flashing can't be un-done. So think about it for a while before you do it. I am more than sure that there are people here that would help you out with the flashing process of your drive. Noxcyber |
