Clone CD Discuss, DVHS as Data Backup at Burning Software forum; Hi Guys, I have not been to this forum for quite some time. If I remember correctly, Ollie or another clone cd dev was talking about adding something or making another program to back up data onto dvhs..Any updates on that? Thanks

DVHS as Data Backup

Hi Guys,

I have not been to this forum for quite some time. If I remember correctly, Ollie or another clone cd dev was talking about adding something or making another program to back up data onto dvhs..Any updates on that?

Media and the recorder itself is pretty damn expensive.

I wonder how much data you could store on a DVHS tape ?

This kind of thing was done with VHS I recall - but the only disadvantage is that unlike a tape backup system, the program cannot access rewinding/FF etc.............

You can store 50 gigs on a DVHS tape and the tapes are like $4- $7 per tape. I saw a new mitsubishi DVHS on ebay for $100 new in box.
