DVD Burning problems

Right, So I try to burn an ISO. image to a DVD-R using DVD Decryptera and my dvd/cd burning drive which is fitted into my harddrive. When I reach the end of the burning process with DVD Decrypter it says congratulations write was successful blah blah blah, But I put the DVD-R into my PS2 (Yes I have all the modifications to play backups and imports) but it just goes back to the
browser screen. I inserted the DVD-R into my harddrive on my PC to see what was on the disc but it showed nothing. I burned another ISO. to DVD-R but still, It shows that theres nothing on the disc when I try to read the contents of it.
My drive is a Philips SPD2410L1 and the maximum burn rate is 36x I THINK.
So basically to cut a long story short, I'm burning an ISO image to DVD-R 8x, It says the burn was successful, But it looks like it doesn't burn anything onto it. If you could help me it'd be highly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: DVD Burning problems

Welcome to the forum

There are two possible explanations for this issue:

1) A bad burned disc (or a low quality disc)
2) A bad ISO file.

If the ISO file is the problem, then you need to create it again from the original, and this solve the problem. How did you create tie ISO from the original?

About the media, what disc are you using exactly? DVD-R 8x is a bit too generic. At what speed did you burn that disc? Are you sure that the burner has the latest firmware installed?

Maybe you can also download latest version of ImgBurn, that is basically the same burning engine of DVD Decrypter, but more updated.

Re: DVD Burning problems

Thanks for trying to help!
Right, I made the ISO by reading the files from the disc on DVD Decrypter then building an ISO from that. So basically DVD Decrypter done it for me. I was using Samsung Pleomax 8x before now I'm using these Woolworths DVD-R's which are better than the Samsung discs.

I managed to a PS2 game on my father's standalone burner and its perfect. I did one on the Samsung disc and it crashes and stuff, I did another on the Woolworths disc and it's as smooth as the original game.

I can't find the latest firmware updates for my drive (Philips SPD2410L1) I've burned onto CD's fine in the past. As for the latest version of Imgburn, I'll try that in a minute. Thanks man.

Re: DVD Burning problems

I suggest to buy better quality media. Both brands you mentioned are really low quality discs. I suggest to try again with Verbatim or, even better, with Taiyo Yuden discs.
