copying using Clone CD

I wish to make a working backup of a game called Destroyer Command using Clone CD beta 4.
Have tried with the earlier version 3.4.3.1 but so far the game locks with the picture of the battleship then eventually asks for the 'correct CD'?

Can this software make the backup for me? and if so what am I doing wrong?
The disk is fairly new and is not scratched as yet, I believe I am within my rights to keep the master copy and use the backup if it can be made.

Can anyone help??

I suggest you read this and this thread to find out what protection was used... Report back what you find out so we can help you further.

have downloaded the clony xxl

The clony xxl program seems to suggest Destroyer Command is protected by safedisk 2.

Have reset the settings on the new clone disk to amplify weak sectors and so on.
Currently trying to copy to a RW just in case I get another coaster with a CDR.

Will report back to you soon.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.........

No problem. Your LG writer does not support the correct efm encoding which you might have already found out. You can try with the latest CloneCD version 4 which has a better 'Amplify Weak Sectors' option than CloneCD version 3...

have retried but still not working properly

Well I used the RW disc to copy the programm and it seemed to work pretty much as the coaster versions did i.e. it installs fine but doesn't run.
However did try and use a patch from one of the games sites suggested to overwrite a folder in the main game directory. That works fine and without the CD in the drive too. But the objective of getting the Clone CD to make a working backup failed. I suppose this is part of copyright protection but they seem to have it the wrong way round i.e. the games install perfectly but don't play with the disc, should be that games don't install but play with the disc. Surely that makes more sense as anyone can use a patch file from a games site once the game is actually installed. lol.....

Back to the drawing board.

Must say that Clone cd works well for most of what I've tried so far.
