| Is ClonyXXL really any good? Hello everyone, Maybe I'm just not to bright. I haven't had a lot to luck using Clony any verison. When I select pass setting on to CloneCD can I use the "copy cd button" or do I have to use the R/W buttons seprately? If I have to change settings manually because it doesn't always get it right, What good is it? I'm in the US. p3-800, 256pc133sdram Toshiba 1612dvd liteon 24102b clondCD 4x nero 5x Thanx to all tha reply, Jeff in LA. ![]() |

| What CD-RW drive do you have? When I use Clony and get the detection and the settings, I open Clone CD, I do the "Read To Image File" function first, then "Write To Image File second", therefore I do the two things seperately, which I think you should try. If your game is Safedisc 2 and you have a Liteon, make sure Amplify Weak Sectors is off, I have made a few coasters of my own like that. |

| Scout 2.2 JellyBelly. I took your advice and gave Scout a try. I'm very glad I did. After the install I had it read a SD game, "No One Lives Forever" and was "VERY" please with the results. I will be sure to spread the word about Scout. Thank you very much for telling me. Jeff in LA. |

| My only beef is that Clony is half english and half.....dutch I think. Since I am unable to use Clony[because of language difficulties], would anyone be able to refer me to a site with a fully english program of clony or just for a different program? |

| Those ClonyXXL links are WAAAYYY out of date. Its on version 2.0.1.3a, and is actually alot better than most copy prot scanners out there. http://www.clony.smokers-board.de/. <-- Official Site. (Incase anyones wondering Splinter cell is CD1 = Nothing, CD2 = nothing, CD3 (Play Disk) = SD2.8) |

| I've tried versions 2.0.0.6 and now 2.0.1.1 and both versions create havoc with my pc causing it to lock up. 2.0.1.1 will lock up on the second disk i try to scan and then i have to switch the pc off and reboot. Think i'll give Scout a go, if only i could find a link that works. ![]() |

| The title of this thread is "Is ClonyXXL really any good" My answer is yes, for a first time user and only if you want Adapatec's ASPI loaded onto your system and it doesn't conflict with any other SCSI layer already loaded. Read the FAQ (which also links to Down & Dirty), if any of the links are broken, please let me know.

| There are too major problems with ClonyXXL => misdetection due to strange detection schemes can cause panic by reporting Tagès on an unprotected CD => author is ... strange (i don't have another explanation for his problem with translations)
