CloneCD and Max Payne

Yes...another newbie question here

I want to make a copy of Max Payne because I would hate to buy another copy of it. I used the Search functin and the best thing I could find was:

Max Payne is SafeDisc 2

Use the Search Function, it's one of the orange buttons, top right

Use the latest version of Clone (which you are)

Disable IMAPI (Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services

Check DMA in Device Manager

Install Adaptecs ASPI File Layer system (4.7)

Read at max to HDD: Fast Error Skip (choose default in Settings)

Write at the speed of your CD-R: Close...Buffer...& AWS checked (can't be in US or JP operating system locales)

I downloaded CloneCD and well...I'm stuck....I'm using WinXP and I can't find how to disable IMAPI or DMA...Install Adaptecs? I found the Fast Error Skip...any help will be greatly appreaciated...thanks a lot!

adaptec recomends not to use ASPI layer with XP

***NOTE: Do NOT install ASPI32.EXE with Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP, Easy CD Creator 4.x, or with Windows Media Player 7.0. If are using either of these Operating Systems or if you have any one of these applications, you should not be installing or using this file.

This is the result of a tiff between Adaptec & MS. MS didn't want to licence the key ASPI file, winaspi32.dll, for money, from Adaptec after Win98SE. NT onwards, including XP, use a "pass through interface". There is no harm installing 4.70, which is now free from Adaptec. The warning is still there for 4.60 but has been replaced in 4.70 by

Do not use this version of the ASPI layer in Windows 95. Use ASPI version 4.60 found under the EZ-SCSI 5.x downloads for Windows 95.

Adaptec provides this software without charge and as a courtesy to Adaptec product users but offers no technical support regarding this software
Oh, and read this

MarcoR tell us which writer you have and we can help you further. The ASPI thing is a little irrelevant to your question (no offence guys ).

While on this topic, I was trying to backup my Max Payne so I can file my original into the "originals" folder and start playing through it again (great game btw).

I get to 97% in clonecd then it gives me:
Writing to CD Failed, MEDIUM ERROR: WRITE ERROR (3:0x0c:0x00)

I'm using 80m discs (using a cdrw disc to test because I ate two blanks of different types trying originally) and enabling overburn. My info below:

Liteon 24102b
Clonecd 3.3.4.1

Latest attempt I tried only using "Always close last session" as the write options, but I've tried once with AWS & Dont repair subchannel data also...

I read the disc with the basic options:
FES, 0 retries hardware correction

Regards,
Tim

Nah, it seems that I hit a batch of bad discs. I pulled from the bottom of the pile and it burned fine. I just bought 100 fujifilm (tayo yuden) 80m cds at bestbuy for $29 (there's a $10 mail in rebate also, so its gonna run $19 after all that)... They're working great right now...
