CloneCD + Asus CRW5224A - Club CDFreaks

When i put my Asus onto my Promise ATA133 controller, is doesnt burn faster then 18-20x. And my buffer goes: 89%-65%-32%-17%-5%-34%-76%-98%-86%-67% etc etc etc

So i decided to put it onto my mainboard directly.
Its an Asus P4T533-C.

It burns fast now with clonecd, and a full buffer all the time

But when i burn a CD (Imation 48x cdR) with CloneCd.
I get the following error massage between the 5 and 98% done:

Writing to CD Failed, HARDWARE ERROR: NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION (4:0x08:0x03)
Flushing buffers.....
Writing to ASUS CRW-5224A FAILED
Duration of operation: 00:01:36

The time is different every time.

Is my asus defect? of is there a solution?

my asus 4816a was bringing up the same error so i changed it from a slave to a master i have it on the same ribbon as my asus 52x cd rom and now no more errors

If the Promise is in addition to IDE#0 & IDE#1 then this is predictable. Optical devices do not work well on 'RAID' controllers and is not a recommended configuration!
