The profile settings override the hardware settings

Unless AWS is checked in the write part of the profile, it won't happen

For specific burners, AWS is disabled by default anyway. That's why you can burn with Lite-On, ASUS etc using the default Game CD profile without a problem; CloneCD is coded this way; always leave the default profiles 'as-is'.

I've found some more CloneCD profiles here. I dunno if it's allowed to link them , or that they used cdfreaks' information to make them or whatever. And who cares about that anyway ?

I don't know if they work , i have not tested them.

Thanks for the links Mr. B. These Profiles were also reported in this thread but I don't get some of them they're using. CD Cops is uncopyable (with some very unusual exceptions when you use the right CD-R's). FutureProof's quote says it all:

heya G@M3FR3@K,

I tryed using you profiles with my Lite-On 40105S, but when I tryed to copy Battlefield 1942, Need For Speed: Hot Persuit 2 (and probable more Savedisc 2.81) it won't work... But with the default Game Profile it worked, and CD-Mate also made a succefull copy... So maybe it's time to make a new profile for the newest SaveDisc 2 game-prottections (or update)...

And second, it might be a good idea if someone tests the profiles Mr. B posted, so you can place the working ones in your post... (if he admit)

I agree with SAURON the safedisc 2 needs to be updated because I've also had problems with NFSHP2 and Battlefield 1942 with the Safedisc 2 profiles until I used the default setting then had success on my Plexwriter 24/10/40A.

Battlefield uses Savedisc 2.6x

The Sims Unleashed, Total Club Manager, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 uses safedisc 2.8x

And ofcourse there are lots of games which are using newer Savedisc versions than 2.51 (also 2.7x etc), so the profiles need a little update...

And maytbe some of the working profiles from Mr. B. could also be usefull in your post, because then you have a greater offer of profiles...

New profile updates wont help much as CloneCD has shown that it has trouble copying the newer protections. Blindwrite and Alcohol are pretty much the only alternatives for now.

That's pretty bad... I start using CD-Mate for a while, till CloneCD will be able to make perfect copies, and the profiles are correct...

CD-Mate did the job with his SaveDisc 2 profile... CloneCD supports only up to SaveDisc 2.6x, using the default Game Profile...

They work well against SD2 up to but not including SD2.80.010 with 4016 and 4019 but not 4100 or 4101. SecuROM 4.8 and ProtectCD 5 ability will be along later.

I got 2 questions:

1. What is a good protection scanner, with also recognize audio protections and the version of the Savedisc 2.XX protection?

2. And with profile/settings should I use for an unprotected cd (like Windows, Office, or an self made backup), to have the best results?

1) SafeDiscAnalyser for SD and yates scanner for SecuROM; dunno about audio but the prot is acknowledged on the CD case

2) Read: all off. Write: buffer underrun (I call this profile "POD" or Plain Old Data)

An other thing:

I just downloaded the new Clony XXL profiler (2.0.1.0)...

And I got the conclusion that CloneCD/ClonyXXL/G@MEFREAK/Mr. B their profiles are all different...

So what should I take? Because than I am able to edit it to the best profiles for myself...

I just don't understand any f*ck about all these difference...

Can somebody give me the answer, which profiles I should use?

The defaults, ours and your own custom profiles, whatever works. I'll have to update my Settings Post, methinks

I think I am going to try Alocohol 120%, it''s just works far better than CloneCD, just working profiles for every protection...

And big explanation about the new SECUROM >4.8 and how to get it work...

Hi Sauron,

I have read your post a good couple of times but quite frankly I am not quite clear as to what exactly you are having a problem with.

As for the CCD capabilities so far it is no secret that the CCD 4.2.0.2 is still not able to copy the Lastest Securom but as for the Sfae disk 2.8X there is no problem any more.

Could you please tell me what area you are having a problems again and I would try to help you.
