| Hey I've just got back my copy of Pharaoh (Best Seller Series by Sierra), and I've found that my ex-friend who borrowed the CD seemed to have used the CD as some sort of way to sharpen his teeth (a heck of a lot scratches .. but its still readable .. just). I've used the latest copy of ClonyXXL (without the CloneCD settings). It indicates that it uses the 'Illegal TOC' protection. I'm not too sure what settings I should use for copying the game, and I really don't want a coaster. Do I use the 'Protected Game' profile .. or must I use a custom one? If there is a custom profile, would someone please post it, I'm too lazy to create my own I am not worthy ![]()

| Illegal TOC can be read with any Profile. An Illegal TOC is hardly a copy-protection since even Nero Burning Rom can defeat it. CloneCD reads the disc as it is and will ignore an Illegal TOC. Since the disc is scratched I would suggest you use the default Data Profile but keep an eye on the CloneCD log window. When read errors occur you should reduce the read speed.

| FutureProof wrote that when there were no profiles at all. The profiles he is refering to are from August 7th and are on the first page of this thread.

Why 500? Because the ring will contain between 2,500 and 3,500 consecutive bad sectors and the practical experience of numerous testers has shown that a sector step of 500 is close to the optimum both for speed of dumping and for likelihood of a successful copy.

| Being a sour Nero6 user, I resorted to CloneCD4.2.0.2, the option of enabling "Regenerate Data Sectors" in reading profile for VCDs makes reading VCD with `bad Sectors` so much faster and reliable although it is not mandatory for VCD copying; basically it is a "Data CD" default profile with regenerating data sectors enabled, using defauly DAO RAW mode writing. ![]() |

| Updates? I have just seen that you have updated the profiles for download. Great. Just wondering what the updates were and secondly why SafeDisc (1/2/2.51) - no AWS and SafeDisc (2/2.51) - AWS arn't in the "All In One Download Pack". Related, In the "All In One Download Pack" there are many SafeDisc 2 profiles. Do these replace the afore mentioned ones?

| Safedisc profiles have been updated to switch FES setting from on to auto (FP's recent tests have shown significantly better results with sd 2.9 with FES set to auto).

| The profiles have been updated but the text in the post has not. Hopefully, the new profiles are self explanatory (maybe they're not!). I'll compile a short explanation, then post before completing a rewrite.

| The profiles have been updated but the text in the post has not. Hopefully, the new profiles are self explanatory (maybe they're not!). Here's a short explanation:[list=1][*]Audio CD.ccp CloneCD Default Profile; [CloneCD DefaultReadPrefs] > FirstSessionOnly=1 Ensures that the protective {second} data session is ignored. [*]Damaged Audio.ccp Custom profile; [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > read subs, regenerate data; slow read/best quality; [CloneCD WritePrefs] > WriteSpeed=8 [*]Damaged Data.ccp Custom Profile [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > RegenerateData=1 [*]Data CD.ccp CloneCD Default Profile; [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > RegenerateData=1 ; AbortOnReadError=1 [*]Game CD.ccp CloneCD Default Profile; Just about all options, that work in combination, are enabled. This profile will read subs, fix errors and regenerate EDC/ECC, Amplify Weak Sectors (a no-no for some writers), scan bad sectors and leave subchannel data ‘as-is’ for PSX/LibCrypt. [*]Karaoke.ccp Custom profile. Karaoke is big in some countries and there are professionals who make some decent money. They *never* take their originals on the road. [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > ReadSubData=1 ReadSubAudio=1 AbortOnReadError=1 ReadSpeedAudio=8 (essential for red Book Audio) AudioQuality=3 [*]LaserLock.ccp Custom profile; the key is scanning the gross number of bad sectors [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > FastErrorSkip=1 IntelligentBadSectorScan=1 SectorSkip=100 [*]Multimedia Audio CD.ccp Default profile [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > ReadSubAudio=1 (it’s unlikely that the audio is Red Book format) [*]Plain Old Data.ccp Custom profile (minimum of fuss and potential for error) [*]Protect CD.ccp Custom profile for subs and error protection. I found that audio subs assists better sound [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > ReadSubData=1 ReadSubAudio=1 FastErrorSkip=2 ReadSpeedData=8 ReadSpeedAudio=8 IntelligentBadSectorScan=1 SectorSkip=100 AudioQuality=3 [*]Protected PC Game.ccp Default profile with just about everything enabled. The AWS option may produce coasters in certain writers. [*]PSX [LibCrypt] 8x.ccp Custom profile; use for CDs suspected to contain Red Book audio and Full Motion Video (FMV) [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > ReadSubData=1 ReadSubAudio=1 AbortOnReadError=1 FastErrorSkip=0 (must be off or auto) ReadSpeedAudio=8 AudioQuality=0 (can be made better but Red Book audio rare on PSX) [CloneCD WritePrefs] > DontRepairSubchannelData=1 (essential) WriteSpeed=8 (required due to differences between PSX and CD-RW discs) [*]PSX [LibCrypt] Max Read and Write.ccp Custom profile: A max read and write with quality devices and media [*]Ring PROTECH.ccp Custom profile; characterised by gross errors and suspected subchannel information. [CloneCD ReadPrefs] ReadSubData=1 ReadSubAudio=1 FastErrorSkip=2 IntelligentBadSectorScan=1 SectorSkip=500 [*]SafeDisc 1.ccp Custom profile; characterised by weak sectors. One-sheep writers OK. [CloneCD ReadPrefs] > FastErrorSkip=1 (on or auto – doesn’t matter); read/write at max [CloneCD WritePrefs] > AmplifyWeak=1 (for no-sheep writers – should not affect one or two-sheep writers) [*]SafeDisc 2 [Amplify].ccp Custom Profile: required for one-sheep writers in SD2.51+ and no-sheep writers for < 2.51 [*]SafeDisc 2 [Emulate].ccp Custom Profile: works with just about any writer [*]SafeDisc 2 [Ignore].ccp Custom Profile: required for one-sheep writers < SD2.51+ and two-sheep writers for 2.51+ [*]SafeDisc 2.9x [8x read and write].ccp Custom Profile: works for some one and two sheep writers for SD2.9x [*]SecuROM [NEW] for LITEON.ccp Custom Profile: Warcraft 3 and Neverwinter Nights era games where reading reliability was key [*]SecuROM 4.8x for twinpeak.ccp Custom Profile: as it states! [*]SecuROM.ccp Custom Profile: for older games[/list=1]Look here for tips and tricks BEFORE posting your question here ![]() If you think I've made a mistake then please post just below ![]()

| All Liteys except "1B" models are two-sheep burners (99% of 'em anyway - some don't).
