Whats the difference between the two. They both copy dvds so why get clone dvd when clone cd does the same. I want to purchase this software and I can't figure out if I should buy both or just clone cd. Please help, I don't want to spend extra money if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

CloneDVD2 compresses and has many options that CloneCD does not have, but CloneCD will copy " On the fly" and CloneDVD2 will not. They are two completely different programs. I use them both, they are fantastic proggys.

What do you mean it compresses ?

It will compress a DVD9 to a DVD5 disc. If you want to backup your movies to a regular DVD 4.7gbs disc you need to compress it if it is more then 4.3gbs. You can also use D/L and not compress the disc but D/L media is expensive.

So what you are saying is that clone cd will copy data dvd but if I want to copy movies I would need clone dvd and any dvd? Am I correct?

Yes you are exactly correct, most movies are in the 7 gbs range and to back them up you need to compress them or use a D/L media disc. Thank you alan1476. I too need only to 1:1 copy data CDs and DVDs, not movies, and your explanation hits the spot. Now, I hear, CloneCD is no longer sold and/or supported by Elby, is that correct?
