Clone CD and Command&Conquer Generals Zero Hour

I just had my first try at CloneCD because I've been havin a lot of success with SlySoft's AnyDVD.
Tried to copy Command&Conquer Zero Hour from the original.
When starting the game from the copy, it shuts down immediately, giving me the "a problem was encountered" message.

When the "Hide CDR Media" option in the system tray is checked, the copy works. Does this mean, that the copy can only be used on a PC that has CloneCD installed on it ?

Well, otherwise it really would have been too easy.

Is this a known problem ?

Thanks.

Re: Clone CD and Command&Conquer Generals Zero Hour

C&C Gen's uses 2.6-9, it checks ATIP. This means it checks to see if the CD you are using is a CD-ROM or a CR-R. If it picks up that its a CD-R the game will not run. CloneCD (and other progs like Alcohol 120%) can fool these checks and tell the protection that the CD is a ROM. In short, Yes you will need a prog to hide the ATIP for the back-up to work.
