| Finally I can speak about it ![]() Great job, took you long enough though (know you got the go ahead last night already )Do not have the time to check if CD Freaks has the scoop, but I assume you guys fixed that (hope it will not result in another 'slashdot' like a few months ago...) |

| If you are an experienced user and you know what you are doing while copying protected cd's... then there is nothing new under the sun in this new version of CloneCD. (Maybe the new audio-option: "read first session only" but if you want to copy audio, normally you don't want to use CloneCD, in my opinion.) Olli also stated that the new version won't support the new weak sectors or Tages... But for newbies, the new CloneCD will be nice! I also reckon that CD-Mate and the others won't be happy... because now they won't have an advantage (being more user-friendly than CloneCD) any more.Another thing: like you probably know here in Europe a new law will be introduced which will prohibit the circumvention of copy-protections (just like the American version: Digital Millennium Copyright Act). Any idea what Olli thinks of this (maybe the CEBIT visitors MP|3, Domin8tor, Zise) ??? I guess it will make CloneCD an illegal programm... How will Olli deal with this? ![]() |

| "Another thing: like you probably know here in Europe a new law will be introduced which will prohibit the circumvention of copy-protections " Any idea what's gonna happen with the prices of blank media??? Because we pay extra taxes on this stuff for the right to make legal backups.....If they wanna forbid backups, they have to make the prices of blank media drop..... The multimedia industry is always complaining about lost profits, but they never complain about the earnings from blank media....perhaps they gonna take the profit at both sides now... |

| Huh? Don't know what is going to happen to the prices of blank media. But I do know that we get the strange situation where it is legal to make backups for private use, but it will be illegal to circumvent any copy-protection while making that personal backup... |
