im trying to backup emperor:battle for dune and star trek amada 2..game copyworld says that the protection used on both games is cd checks..what clone settings i use for this? thanks in advance

umm.... emperor is protected by safedisk 2.... well my copy was anyway

Hey,

If you want to easily backup Emperor Battle for Dune (EBFD) go to the Westwood website and look for an official patch brought out by westwood (note this may also be available from places like gamecopyworld).

Basically certain cd-drives/writers/dvds had great difficulty in being able to install/play EBFD from the original CDs (this happened to me) so Westwood brought out a patch that was basically an unwrapped version of the executable i.e. it had no SD2 protection on it.

The way I backed it up was to copy the contents of the CDs to HD then apply the patch to the main install (instructions should be included) then I burned using Nero from HD and it works like a charm.
