Clone CD Discuss, Any luck copying NOLF2 ????? at Burning Software forum; I know ClonyXXL cannot determine what type of copy protection NOLF2 Disc1 has on it ( I have version 2.0.1.1a), and I have CloneCD 4.0.10. I have had no problems copying other games in the past. Has anyone made a 1:1 WORKING copy? Please help.

Here are my system specs:
AMD AthlonXP 1900+ (@1700MHz OC'd from 1600MHz)
Lite-On 48x12x48 CDRW
512MB DDR333 @CL2
Geforce3 Ti200 (OC'd WAY past the Ti500 spec)

It's securom 4.8x and can't be copied by ccd without extra help (blackcheck's twinpeak tool and a bwa file).

Blindwrite v 4.2.5 is generally considered to be the best option for copying this game if you want a copy that will run without emulation.

If emulation is ok, use alcohol with securom 4.x settings.

forgive my ignorance on this subject.. but what do you mean by "emulation".....?

I do know what emulators are, I have many console (NES, Gameboy Advance) emu's with a ton of ROMS. Are we talking about the same thing?

No not really. When emulating a game with CloneCD/Blindwrite/whatever you're emulating the used copy-protection on the disc. Simply said: when the back-up game is launched, the application check for the protection (which should of course be present since it's also on the original disc). This check is intercepted by other software, CloneCD for instance (via the CloneCD-tray) and feeds the used protection to the application. So this would mean that the back-up disc doesn't have to be a perfect copy, but you will need other software installed to be able to play the back-up. Normally when you create a perfect back-up you woulnd't need emulation.

Yes. Bwa files are not cracks. In fact, there is a sticky thread on the blindwrite forum from which bwa files can be downloaded.
