Portable audio and video players Discuss, How do get protected tracks to my ipod? at International Chat: Hardware related forum; I'm new so please be patient I recently purchased two content protected cds and I can't get the tracks to my iPod. How do I get around it? The cds are from Sony BMG music entertainment. Thanks!

How do get protected tracks to my ipod?

I'm new so please be patient I recently purchased two content protected cds and I can't get the tracks to my iPod. How do I get around it? The cds are from Sony BMG music entertainment. Thanks!

Well if it's anything like downloading from the Music Store toTunes, you have to transfer the songs from the CD into iTunes and authorize your computer to play those songs before they can be transfered to the iPod

Try Exactaudiocopy to extract the music from the CDs.

No, that has absolutely nothing to do with the matter at hand here, which is ripping CPCD's.

The best way to rip CPCD's is definitely by using Exact Audio Copy and hoping that your CD drive is pretty good.

All the Sony/BMG CDs I've bought lately have "xCP" copy protection, which I have noticed does... nothing?

Start up EAC, put in the CD, and rip. EAC blocks it from autoplaying any sort of DRM-crippled nonsense. Maybe that's the key?
