ImgBurn V2 only burns, not rips or decrypts. Hold on to dvdd.

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Just tested:
Overburning files (DVD-Video or DVD iso/udf) works seemlessly with my BenQ 1640. I assume that other BenQ drives with overburning ablities will be able to as well.

Yea! no more building IMG files just to overburn!

SB: off for supported disk
WOPC : off

Overburning on BenQ 1640/1650/1655 is supported since ImgBurn 1.1.0.0.

Here's the thread for 1650/55 drives: BenQ DW1655/DW1650 overburning thread

Yes but 'Build' mode didn't exist until v2 and I believe that's what adict2jane was testing/commenting on

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Hi LUK, I have several questions/requests/comments:

1. Is there any plan to add Graph Data support to CD-DVD Speed?

2. Pic1: BD-R/RE support, yes!

3. Pic2: However it doesn't support BD-R DL yet.

4. Pic3: data under 50GB shows "Future Format" instead of BD-R DL. Pic 4/5 shows some info on BD-R DL media I currently have. I believe the correct BD-R DL size is 46.61 GB.

Thanks!

Ah I see.

Another comment regarding BD-R/RE burning.
When writing to BD-RE media, does the software uses somekind of verification? Because I can only get 4000+ KB/s (3.0x) while it's supported at 9MB/s. I believed the 3.0x in ImgBurn is for "DVD speed", and it's equivalent to around 0.9x BD speed. From what I read, a 2x BD speed is 9MB/s. Thanks!

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

1. The data is there, cd-speed just can't read it - nor can it whist still keeping inline with the licensing terms of the ibg files.
As the idea was thought up in combination with DVD Info Pro, I can't see that changing, what with the two being competing products and all that.

2. Yup, with made up (ish!) figures that I borrowed from some screenshots

3. I didn't see a profile for BD-R DL stuff, I'll check the updated specs and add detection in the next release.

4. Again, I didn't know it existed yet and didn't have any info on the size of the media.

You're lucky to have a Blu-Ray drive, anything I do for that format is totally made up!

No, the software doesn't perform any verification (during the write) so I'm not sure why you're being limited to 3x (0.9x).

I've not actually spent much time on BD / HD DVD stuff as it's pretty pointless until I get at drive that I can test with. At over £500 each, I can't see me getting one any time soon either!

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Thanks LUK, and yes I'm quite lucky to have the drive and media.

Regarding verification on BD-RE, I've tested with 3 different softwares, including ImgBurn. In the review when using Nero ROM 7 it also "verify" as the burn time was 90-100mins. However using CDSpeed it can burn BD-RE in a normal 45mins. With ImgBurn you can see in the attachment above it will take 1:34:47 (94mins).

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Hmm I wonder if it's like DVDRAM with its built in verification stuff?

If it is, I could get around BD-RE verification using the same methods that works for DVDRAM.

If you like, I'll extend the 'DVDRAM FastWrite' feature to work for BD-RE too.

If you've got a spare minute, I'd really like to see all the details you get in the info panel on the right in ImgBurn when you have each of the 3 media types in the drive.
ie. BD-R, BD-R DL, BD-RE.

I'm missing some needed info at the moment and that might just about do it!

I've made other changes to hopefully report BD speeds in BD format - rather than DVD. Of course I can't test it though so perhaps you would/could? Drop me a PM if interested. Cheers.

According to the drive specs, BD-RE write method is Random Access just like DVD-RAM.

That would be nice!

Are these the correct info panels you need? If you need more info just let me know.

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

If I've gone to the trouble of making the program output that line in the log, I think it's safe to assume that it does.

It effects the verify stage, nothing else - hence the wording in the log entry.

This isn't just an ImgBurn thing, AnyDVD would cause verify to fail on all programs that compare what has been burnt to the content of the original ISO it was burnt from.
That's not to say AnyDVD would change the content of *ALL* images you burn (as you read the disc back from the drive as part of the 'Verify' stage), just ones it thinks it needs to (going by how you've configured it).

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Not that I'm doubting you, LUK!, but I use AnyDVD & ImgBurn a *LOT* and while I've never disabled AnyDVD I've never had a DVD fail verify mode in any program including ImgBurn.

May boild down to a software/hardware configuration thing...

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Like I said, it depends on the image you burn (where it came from in the first place and how it was made) and how you have AnyDVD configured.

Hardware doesn't come into it.

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

Anydvd is NOT compatiable with Imgburn so disable it immediately. What i recommend you to do when copying a copy protected file is use dvd decrypter as well. Put in the dvd, make any dvd compatiable with Dvd Decrypter (theres instruction somewhere_..burn the dvd into a video TS file, then use the Video TS file to burn an iso via Imgburn then burn it directly via img burn. This is really good because it keeps the DL layer format intacts etc..go to img burn website for more info. Anyone got a better idea?

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

LUK!, I was completely amazed by what you've done in the new ImgBurn. Thank you. I'll use the hell out of it. Stuff like this is the only reason I have a PayPal account.

@davidw89: I don't think it's a question of compatibility. Just remember that when you have AnyDVD running, it will be doing its job. I don't know if my idea is better than yours, but I manually start AnyDVD when I'm going to backup one of my protected DVDs. After I've ripped the data, AnyDVD's job is over and everything else can be done in a "pure" environment. Reauthor/remaster however you want--strip away the crap, pad your IFOs/BUPs, whatever floats your boat. When you're done, the new ImgBurn makes it hella easy to create your iso and burn it to DVD.

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

I know what your saying..your enabling Anydvd under DVD Decrypter to copy the iso/Video_TS?? Which one do u make the Video or Iso i normally make the VIdeo file as it is compatiable iwth Img burn..then i burn it via Img burn. Is that what you do with protected dvd?

I think it would considerate to not continue to discuss bypassing movie protection in this thread.

Re: ImgBurn v2.0.0.0 Released by LUK!

LUK!, I see. It's all dependent on how AnyDVD is configured. I must have stumbled on the right combination as I have AnyDVD enabled all the time & neither of your programs have ever let me down. I really appreciate what you have done for us all.

DaChew, you're paranoid. Even Lightning UK! himself says it will work if configured right. I think he put in the warning to disable it as he didn't want to have to do tech support for SlySoft. Perfectly understandable.

On my machine they work together beautifully. I owe a LOT to both LUK! and SlySoft in their help to keep my original DVDs safe from little kids' hands.
