Re: ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 "Verify" error - discs dodged? Hello again. While i appreciate the best of the best trying to help me, as long as they do what my little sister can ("its your drive") i have rights to not believe what i get to hear. So, now it's the overclocking? Here some examples: Machine is overclocked since A YEAR. Problem is present since DAYS. (and i'm running the rig at only 2.000 now, if there was a way to edit the post in "PC specs" i'd amend that). Drive: Works fine with 2.3.2.0. Does NOT with 2.4.1.0 but later, BACK on 2.3.2.0, works fine again. Cables: See "drive". @LUK At first it all seemed well, after i reinstalled that version - both discs were fine. However AFTER posting the logs i noticed that the second burn again started messing up - i.e. after burning, the "supported speeds" stopped at 8x, which is weird. I have no more blank discs now and no material to burn either, otherwise i would make the test you suggested (i.e. burn the same compilation once with the setting enabled and once with it disabled). I have reinstalled the old version again but i doubt i'll be burning again under Windows - end of the month i get my salary and by then also Ubuntu 8.04 is released and that will be the end of Windows for me and i probably won't use Wine - it doesn't support the only game i play so what for? There's a ton of burning apps for Linux and one will do the job just like ImgBurn (will there be a Linux version some day??) Regards..... Thanh

![]() @Thanh-BKK - just for giggles, I'd try the current batch of discs on your new burner, before opening up the new ones. ![]() BTW, what new burner did you get?

Re: ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 "Verify" error - discs dodged? I have the Exact Same Problem on My vista Machine x64... I was running XP fine and 3 days ago i upgraded to Vista... i am running IMG BURN 2.4.1.0, everything was running fine On XP ... i am burning backups of my XBOX360 Games and When i verify AFTER THE BURN it says the EXACT SAME ERROR.... the Burns are Not Good either as they FREEZE during PLAYBACK, i think it is either Vista related or IMGBURN... i am Going to Try the OLDER version Of IMGBURN and Try to VERIFY it THERE..

Re: ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 "Verify" error - discs dodged? Hello ![]() I am sorry for not replying, i have still not done my testing yet as i was busy getting Linux up and running. I'm almost there yet, so at some stage this week one of Vista's last tasks will be that test. I can't test the old batch of disks as that batch was used up - the reason for getting new ones ![]() My new burner is another LiteOn (the only ones that come with a silver front - important if everything else on the machine's front is silver!) i don't know on top of my head what type it is but looks just like the old one - probably is even the same. I also changed graphic cards, the new one is a Nvidia (due to Linux compatibility which i have heard is better with Nvidia's) and it has a better performance in Vista too - because it's got double the RAM (256 instead of 128) and is just newer (GeForce 7200 GS). I don't need high end because i am not a gamer. As for trying ImgBurn in Wine - i don't think so. No matter what i do, i can't get the freakin' Wine to work the way it should (Ubuntu 8.04, after playing with PCLos2008Gnome which had too many problems) so i guess i'll stick to regular Linux apps. With best regards...... Thanh

Re: ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 "Verify" error - discs dodged? Hi. Still no conclusion to this - i have just burned 8 DVDs, all using the new version of ImgBurn, the first 4 on the old burner and the next 4 on the new burner. All 8 verified fine and are perfectly readable in every drive. Oh, what they all have in common is that they are a new batch. So what caused the error then - ImgBurn? Doesn't look so. The drive? Doesn't look so, either. The disks? Well.... looks so...... f***ing coincidence i hit the first bad one in the spindle when i tried the new ImgBurn the first time. Last Windows job completed. Last torrent finished, last DVD burned. E-Mails exported. Bookmarks exported. Buying new HDD cooling fan tomorrow. Switch Sunday. Linux, here i come ![]() Best regards...... Thanh
