Re: Burning DL with imgburn

it depends on which game i am burning i just burned TMNT with imgburn and it burned fine and i tried burning armored core 4 right now using clonecd and it burned just fine. if one burning program fails then i switch to the other one but sometimes both fail for one game.

Maybe LUK or someone will come in and give you a hand.

Re: Burning DL with imgburn

These types of failures are out of the software's hands.

Write Errors are totally down to the hardware / media and it would appear that with your setup, they're a bit hit and miss.

You're already using Verbatim 2.4x discs, so unless you've just got a duff batch, your drive must be the issue. Perhaps a lens cleaner would help - or invest in a different drive - I've never been a fan of the 'fake' Plextors.

Re: Burning DL with imgburn

Hi There

I am having a similar problem but when using Nero ..

My drive is also Plextor 760A and I am using BulkPaq and RiDisc DVD+R DL blanks ..

In Nero, it does exactly 50% and then the write fails ..

It must be something to do with the drive. I am going to invest in a new one .. I reckon the one I have is past its sell by date :-(

Regards

Zak

"I am using BulkPaq and RiDisc DVD+R DL blanks"

Not to be mean or anything, but before investing in a better drive, you might try investing in better media.

Just a thought.

Indeed, Verbatim DVD+R DL disc are the only ones worth buying.

I've burned a lot of DL media and will offer this advice. Use Verbatim DL+R media, MKM001 or MKM003, and burn with ImgBurn. Period.

Re: Burning DL with imgburn

hey JT340 Ive got a very similar problem using imgburn and clonecd.
The project starts really well but always get to 50 or 51% then get I/O errors. the details are listed as servo spindle error and got all the same crap youve got about sectors etc,

Im using 8x Datawrite DVD +R DL discs and as far as i can see everything like bitsetting booktypin is bang on which possibly points to discs. Saying that my drive is bog standard drive GWA4164B hybrid drive but aint had problems with any other discs burning.

Its interesting that some files work though as Ive only ever tried the same Image.000/.DVD files maybe give a different one or slightly smaller one ago. Its the waiting to get them though thats the pain!!!

Since your last thread has the problems resolved in anyway or did you go for the verbatims??

Re: Burning DL with imgburn

There is something really wrong. Is ASPI/ASAPI selected in the prefs?
Are those REAL Verbatim DL, MIS or MII? What package?

Expensive drive, at least €200 and only DL burning capable of 2.4x max. :?

Re: Burning DL with imgburn

That is the rated speed of those discs (2.4x), though I have seen 4x strategies for them.

Perhaps check DMA.

I meant blutach.
AFAIK, this burner can only burn DVD+R DL at max 2.4x.
