| Which movie would benefit most from being in Hi-Def I'm not a movie freak but I can imagine that movies with a lot of landscape scenes would benefit most from High Defenition with crisp and vivid images of the scenery, air, animals, water etc. Are there any movies you have in mind that would probably be even better when they would have been in Hi-Def? (and you never know who reads it, they might consider it )

| Re: Which movie would benefit most from being in Hi-Def If you have access to the Japanese HD-DVD set of this series, buy it at any price. It's unbelievable for both picture and audio quality. It's the best picture I've seen yet, outside of Planet Earth. The audio can knock you out of your seat. ![]() As to the topic, it really has more to do with the quality of the video master than it does the movie itself. Most movies are done on film, which is capable of resolutions far greater than 1080. Getting that level of resolution onto video is another story, and requires very expensive and new hardware. That said, many of the old westerns are excellent choices, with photography that begs for high-res transfers. The Searchers and The Cowboys are 2 that are already on HD discs. The list of potential candidates is long, and even the black and white movies would be stunning in HD. |

| Re: Which movie would benefit most from being in Hi-Def I am hoping Saving Private Ryan will come out some day in Hi-Def but it doesn't look like it is anytime soon ;( I think War and Action type movies will also benefit, all that action just jumping out at you should make it a good viewing experience. |

| Re: Which movie would benefit most from being in Hi-Def Any of the old classics that have really been re-vamped (ie Battle of The Bulge, 2001: A Space Odyssey) as well as any of the documentaries that have been listed above. Amazing picture quality difference. |

| Re: Which movie would benefit most from being in Hi-Def Not a movie but "Eagles Hell Freezes Over" would be awsome in HD and HD sound. For the older generation at least.![]()
