Blu-ray: Early adopters knew what they were getting into

Quote:
Blu-ray may have taken a commanding lead in the next-generation format war, but the group has a big problem looming: early supporters of the format will be left out in the cold when the Blu-ray Disc Association introduces BD Profile 2.0

Re: Blu-ray: Early adopters knew what they were getting into

Yeah, who was it who asked me why I thought HD-DVD was more consumer-friendly? Just confirms what I thought, the PS3 is the only Blu-Ray hardware worth buying. I just feel bad for the folks who bought standalones and will be stuck with potential playback issues. At least if the HD-DVD format tanks and you have recently purchased an A3 you are out $150 versus a player that DEFINITELY will have playback issues on newer releases within the next year. Let's hope this kind of info is being released to consumers all over.
