Yeah but that is only like with satellite and for testing etc.

I know you need a TV to show the new format too. Hmm hope it catches on.

What???

You need a TV in any way. Or should I have missed something?

If you meant "new TV", that's also wrong.
You won't need a new TV for HDTV, but it would make sense because of the res/bitrate compared to SDTV.

It's only via SAT so far, but starting up in UK via DVB-T soon.
DVB-T HDTV will never come to Germany i.e., because of the limited badnwith available!

Also, there are HDTV channels already available via DVB-C.
All depends on your local reseller/provider.

We were supposed to get these channels this year. The 10 "new" channels are simply the last 10 of the original VOOM package that weren't included on Dish. they are mostly movie channels. Deffinitely a nice addition though, hope they don't wait too long.

Yeah no point in getting HDTV if you dont have a HD-Ready flat screen, and you need a dish. Over here there IS not HDTV, you can get with satellite, but most cable companys are not going to start servicec.

They don't have room for it, they are starting now with 100Mbit Internet Connection in the TV-outlets. And some are using broadband TV etc.

However it would be nice if they could cut the analog TV of for real and go digital.

I am getting Sky Digital my self Want more channels etc

Then you cannot simply say "Damn Europe for not having HDTV and so on " ...

Arn't Premiere broadcasting in HD yet in Germany. They were suposed to late november early december.

Being in the Uk it's a pain in the ass to subscribe and usless to me unless movies are dubbed.

I've seen the Pro7 and other HD tests on my PC and they look great.

That was long time ago.

Pro7HD and SAt1HD transmitting in HDTV but mpeg4 instead of mpeg2 since a while via ASTRA, FTA.
But almost no one can recieve and watch it because you'd need a DVB-S2 receiver or card, which isn't really available yet.

Even the PremiereHD payers weren't lucky, only a bunch (less than 100) have got their receivers so far.

Sounds bad? It is!
