Re: pc to tv hook up?

You will need a (long) S-Video Cable & a "3.5mm Stereo to 2 x RCA" leads to get the sound.

Turn your TV on & select the right input (svideo)

Right click on your desktop -> properties ->Display->Right click on monitor 2 and enable it.

If for any reason it doesn't work ... restart the computer & it should output to the TV automatically.

S-Video is oinly Standard definition, so text will look crap. It's ok for movies &/or games though.

This really belongs in the newbie forum.

Re: pc to tv hook up?

You need to move (drag with mouse) the application from primary monitor to secondary monitor (your TV).

Re: pc to tv hook up?

I have the same video card. I drag the TV picture over the the TV and that way I have the TV on the TV and the desktop on the monitor. This is the extended desktop mode.

Re: pc to tv hook up?

Not sure if the OP is still watching this thread or got it fixed, but I have 2 9550 cards as well as several other ati card. Ranging from my old 8500's, to my 2600xt, they all have theater mode so far as I can remember. I also remember that on more than one occation, I had to update/change drivers (catylist control center) to get the option avalable (could be I was just looking in the wrong place on some versions). If you can get the secont display (tv) into theatre mode, and and all video (sorry, dont know about slide shows), will automatically be sent full screen to the tv (secondary display). You can be web surfing or photoshoping or whatever you want with the video on top, in the background, or minimised on the monitor, and the video will be sent full screen to the tv. It works great for me to work on the computer in the bedroom while the kids watch tv (played on the computer), so I can supervise them and still work.
