Output issues??

Hi all, ive got an 8800gtx, and im trying to connect it to my Panasonic Viera 37" hd ready tv, model number th-37px60B. I'm using a dvi to hdmi cable (the one end has an HDMI adapter plugged into it). For some reason ive tried all the possible output types, 720p and so on, but the whatever comes out from my pc, overlaps the tv screen. I know theres an option to reduce the output size, but that doesnt seem to want to do anything. Any suggestions>>??

Re: Output issues??

If you open up your manual/user's guide it'll clearly tell you to use the PC input (VGA connector) at the resolution of 1024x768.

Re: Output issues??

The native resolution for your plasma is 1024x720.
720p is 1280x720 so that's why your not getting it full screen.

From my HTPC I'm using DVI to HDMI to my 42" plasma but I don't use it as a monitor to avoid burn from static image. I only use it if I want to watch an HD movies or to show other media (image slideshow etc).

Re: Output issues??

1. zevia you're wrong, native resolution is 1024x768
2. gregtherotterius, using DVI/HDMI is only supported on a few TVs (mainly 1920x1080 ones), others use VGA.
3. Use VGA and you'll be fine. If you want better picture get a better TV.

greg, was not personally meant, was just a general opinion.I have seen dudes buying Plasmas with res 800x600 for a big amount of money...couldnt believe that....

"Native resolution" shouldn't be dependent on the used coloursystem (PAL vs. NTSC).
