| High Def tv as Monitor? http://www.sharpusa.com/products/sup...d=27&x=47&y=10 totally new to this. but I got this sharp tv and want to use it as a monitor Sharp LC-26GQ5U AQUOS LCD TV It has the dvi input and a chart that seems quite extensive to what screen resolution it is compatible with. I spoke to Sharp 800-237-4277 and they told me the unit is PC compatible with input 5 which is the dvi. The sharp Help desk isn't great, but did say I would need a vga to dvi cabel, but they don't seem to know much about the computer end of it other than they are quite sure it is PC compatible. HOW???? that is what I am trying to establish. :-) I don't have an output at present on my computer to use this. Where do I go, what do I get. |

| Re: High Def tv as Monitor? I got the Vizio 32" It is manufactured with vga input. Maybe not the top of the line, excellent monitor. The price is right, as I wouldn't spend the amount required to get a sony to do this job. It is recommended to use the vga by the manufacturer. IF you use hdmi the monitor cannot adjust to the optimum settings and fill the entire screen without distortion. I do not use the speakers that are on the bottom of the tv, as I have 250 watt speakers previously hooked to the computer and they sound much better. thanks for your help and input. |
