| Re: Australia may ban Plasma TVs... What they didn't mention at all were the largest CRT tube sets. Those consume even more energy than even the most power-hungry LCD or plasma set. Then again, they didn't mention CRTs because they are on their way out of the market anyway. There are far fewer CRT sets available today than there were just five years ago. And the low-power CRT screens all measure only 5 inches or smaller in diameter -- very impractical for use in a living room. What all this means is that Australians might have to squint their eyes in order to watch TV at all because under those recommendations, TV sets sold in Australia might have to be restricted to 1.5 inches or smaller in diagonal. That's much smaller than even the iPod's LCD screen!
