Getting Started with High Definition For everyone who wants to make a start with High Definition, what's the right setup, what equipment to buy and which accessories needed?

These 2 AVRs have more in common than not. the biggest difference is that you won't get much in the way of 7:1 from the 605 because it doesn't have the option of using 7:1 decoders on 5:1 sources. It'll still sound great though.

Swapped the Onkyo 605 for the 705 at a cost of $200 more. One thing I did find out about the 605 is you can matrix 5.1 to 7.1 but only with a bitstream capable player like the A-35 and most BD players. It will not matrix 5.1 to 7.1 via PCM and the 705 will. Still no sign of the Yamaha 663 here yet.
