NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

I am a previous owner of the DVDXCOPY before they got sued in court and lost the right to sell there software since it was to close to the original copyright quality! So they are now offering this NEW software for 69.99 to previous owners of the old DVDXCOPY and 99.99 for all new customers. My question is has anyone tried this software and is it as good as there first and will it copy all the new tuffer copy protected DVD's that are out? they claim to offer a 24/7 tech support and free patches so I am sure they will keep up to date with all the new copy protection that comes out. If anyone has given this software a try please let me know what your results and ratings of this software are.

Many thanks, dlbeaver

Don't wast a nickle or download for this buggy piece of junk! It's been surpassed -- many times over -- by freeware and less expensive shareware programs. I had pi$$-poor experience with the first edition of neXt COPY and swore never again.

Use at you're own dime...and risk.

Look into Ripit4Me with Shrink, ImgBurn, and a little help from FixVTS for excellent backups and its all FREE. Oh yea, DVDDecrypter will be needed to complete the package.

Because I'd bet my Navy Credits against your Beans that he works in the marketing division of that company and his cleverly inquisitive posting is really a spam.

Re: NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

No guys, I am not affiliated in anyway with this program and am just a previous owner of the older DVDXCOPY and always knew it made excellent backups and from what I understand when they got sued and there software removed from retailers in 2003 it was because of there software being able to make to good of a copy of the original to be called a backup and the movie industry attacked this company, So save your parinoid thoughts and use it for some constructive postings rather than searching for someone to flame with. I am indeed after the same thing you are believe it or not, and thats a software that will backup my investment in the best possible quality possible! and if using DVD Decryter and DVDFab to Rip all my DVDs then use DVD Shrink to fit them onto my blank DVD's than I shall continue with this long timely method!, But don't damn me for searching the event horizon for better software on the market since there's only about 20 million of them? Some day I may wish to watch one of my backups due to the original getting broke and hope that by that time I have an HD TV that will at least make my movies look like DVD movies and not lame grainy VHS movies. But I guess maybe this isn't the right website news group based forum that one can find decent software without going through the fire to get it.

Re: NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

I don't know about any of the other "stuff", but this works for me. I have RipIt4Me and DvdFab both installed on my computer. I use ImgBurn to burn all my DVD's, it never fails, it was written by the guy who wrote DvdDecrypter. Between these programs I am able to back up everything I need to. I do movie only as I watch moviesw on an 80" screen thru a LCD projector at 1080i. I would recomend getting the least if no compression if you can because when you get that HD TV all the artifacts wuill be visable. Good luck. Here's a link to ImgBurn in case you haven't used it before. I would (if your burner is capable) booktype to DVD-Rom.

LOL, this is the most stupid reason I've ever heard. If that were the case Shrink had been gone a long time ago!

.

That's tru, in the United States it is illegal to make software that bypasses encryption. but not illegal to use them to make backups of what you own. I followed the legal case quite closely back then. The programs that we buy are not based in the US or UK. That was why DVDDecrypter got closed down in England. The authors who write these programs are based outside of the US (or UK for that matter).

The author of Shrink was clever enough to stay anonymous. And - if you think about it - Shrink *is* gone, the development has stopped a long time ago.

Again, it's not a matter of quality

So what? Shrink's been doing what it's supposed to for years now. There's no need for any further development. Better let others work on ways to circumvent the new copy protection schemes, I'm still using Shrink for encoding.

Besides, my point was the original poster's ridiculous statement that the software he's been spamming this forum about has been made illegal because of it's 'close to original' quality. If that were true (which of course is not) then DVD Shrink would have been the first tool to go since it's one of the best transcoders out there.

The fact that it author remains anonymous would not stop any lawyer to demand sites like Doom9 or Digital Digest to remove their copies of the software.

Re: NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

Hey Chetwood thanks for the multi-shrink stuff. I didn't realize you were that Chetwood. I always wondered why nobody messed with Shrink or why some decoders are available and why some were not. Shrink does rule. I use it all the time and have it backed up on separate disc just to make sure, in case, they could be watching!!!! It would be good if someone did for Shrink what was done for DvdDecrypter (the RipIt4Me).

Re: NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

In my quest to find the best, I have tried many of them. Still need to try 1Click and DVDFab.

So far CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD haven't done me wrong. Sure it's $$ but the ease of use balanced with the quality are a hard combination to beat.

Still, if I were to find something I like better, I'd use it. So far I still Use the two SS products.

Re: NEW COPY SOFTWARE DVD neXt COPY

The original software, DVD X Copy, was not removed from retailers because it made copies that were too good or made copies too easily, but rather because it contained code to crack encryption on DVDs commercially produced by the movie studios, not to mention that I believe the company was based somewhere in the United States allowing the movie studios to almost instantly take them to court. The software did continue to sell for a short period of time without the ability to crack encryption, but it seems as if the main demand for their software was to make backup copies of commercially produced studio released DVDs. With the ability to remove encryption gone, the company, or at least its product, demand dried up and the company seemed to disappear.
