For those that are not familiar with neXt Tech this is similar to CPRX that is in 1 click's products. I haven't tried but this should cover the Deja Vu title.

Re: DVD neXt COPY Update Version 2.7.3.5

I just updated and found this to be a truely awesome update. The trancoder has been tweaked and so has the burning engine. Great times and great performance, I think this program should be tried by everyone. It has a free trial.

Remember Alan there is no transcoder in this program it uses a SteamCompressor ™. Just so you know. Yes it seems due to your posting the burn session on the program it has improve greatly.

Apologies if I'm asking the obvious, but what does that mean and what's the difference?

The StreamCompressor is all part of the DVD neXt COPY KVME
(Kinetic Vector Motion Encoder) witch is our dynamic compression
engine. It is designed with the future in mind and is newer technology
then the traditional encoders and transcoders that are now getting outdated.
Our engine is unique as it analyzes and recompresses streams in 1 step and
produces superior quality copies witch no other software is capable of.
DVD neXt COPY is the only DVD copying software on the market to use
such technology.

Ahh right, I'm with you now and thanks for the explanation.

Sounds a bit like MPEG-Factory 925 but it's always good to see these ideas being updated.

Out of interest, does the compression engine dynamically generate it's own motion vectors or reuse existing ones?

It reads the disc before you start to copy it then it dynamically uses it's own compression for the best settings, You can do movie only and if you want you can do a custom dvd to only have the title menu, movie, and extras too. On my main forum there is a few users just now using the custom mode and have what they want on their backups.

I have to say though that without the assistance of benevolent experts such as yourself, enlightenment would be a lot harder to come by.

Well there is a funny story on my behalf as well..... If you got any further technical I would of had to resign. I'm not to savvy at allot of the technical issues like when you mentioned MPEG-Factory 925 I have never heard of it to be honest., This is a new update so I will check in periodically to see if you need more info.

Sorry, my fault for getting too technical.

I must have a talent for asking awkward questions.

Anyway, if I get the time I'll download the free trial and see how it copes with 'Saving Private Ryan' (the ultimate test of any transcoder IMHO).

I already use a wide range of DVD processing software but I am always on the lookout for new tools that might save some time or make life a little easier.

No problem google is my friend so it helps me when I don't know. Just remember on the transcoder there isn't one this software uses a steamcompressor which is technically more towards the way of an encoder but yet different.

Re: DVD neXt COPY Update Version 2.7.3.5

I have read and read and read and I cannot find any mention of a splitting method. I expected to find this under Advanced Options ... Am I missing something?

I want 100% quality without compression. And without using DL media. Is there a way to split a DVD9 original onto two DVD5 blank media? I would also want to be able to juggle the special features etc onto either backup disk1 or disk2.

Thank you,
Whisperer

Nope you haven't missed anything as this feature isn't there.

Re: DVD neXt COPY Update Version 2.7.3.5

So, no way to deselect enough chapters within a movie TitleSet in order to burn only those chapters to a DVD5?

Too bad, seems a bit over-automated. You guys are all SS product users so I guess you won't be insulted if I suggest that I'll just stick with those products.

You see, I thought (tell me if I'm wrong) that the makers of this product are the people who inherited and built on Robert Moore's original 321 Studios DVD-X-Copy (hense the product name of DVD-NeXt-Copy) after 321 was put out of business. Many of you probably remember the famous "Fair Use" Copyright / consumer rights court battle in which the MPAA put him out of business in the USA. Anyway the original, first version of DXC had masterful splitting capabilities. Hense my surprise that that function was not retained in DVD NeXt Copy. But again ... maybe I am mixed up about the origin of NeXt (?)

Thanks again,
Whisperer

There is a custom mode to deselect what one may not want yes. As for the what they did yes they took on the support half for dvd x copy for 2 years and gathered from those users information to what they would like see to make the product better. So with this being done they were able to create another product.
