| Which is a better Buy? Hi, Im new here, so hello all. Which drive would be the better drive The Samsung SE-S184M for $49.99 Or The LG GSA-E10L for $65.99 I plan on using the drive to burn Burn,Rip,And Do lots of backups. I use sony brand SL DVD's if that helps. thanks |

| Re: Which is a better Buy? I'd look for the SE-S204N. This device is the descendant of the SE-S184M. As far as I know the SE-S204 contains a SH-S202 burner and I think the 202is a good choice. The SE-S184 is outdated and I guess there will be no firmware updates anymore. I'm not sure if the SE-S184M is affected with the DVD-R leadin issue. You can find more information in one of my signature links about the problem. I would not recommend LG. My first burner was LG and the firmware support was not really good. I do not expect firmware updated until the end of my life, but after a few month no more updates because a bunch of new models were came out.... maybe LG changed this policy, but for me it looks like every few days a new LG burner is coming on the market... ![]()

| Re: Which is a better Buy? Or alternatively can anyone recommend a external drive that would be better than any mentioned in this post. Im want a reliable drive that isnt going to break in a month,I would like the drive to support lightscribe. this is my first external drive. I have about $100 to spend. thanks TM for the feedback. |
