Very nice, MegaDETH. I won't take a picture of the 3 Verbtaim BD-R 25s that I have.

Have you successfully backed up a BD-50 movie onto one of your 50 gb discs - with no layer change problems?

I don't have a standalone Blu-ray player (YET) so I am just pretty much stocking up when I can get them cheap.

Re: Show us you Blank Blu-Ray Media Stash!

No photo but...

5x TDK BD-RE 2x (the brown ones above)
5x Verbatim BD-RE 2x (The nice blue ones, 4 are retail and one is from the LG BD drive 1st edition)
1x LG BD-RE 2x that came in my 2nd LG BD drive.

Going to be backing up my DVD collection in DivX format onto some of them, the others are for MP3 collecion etc. All will prob be used in "live format" format in Vista as I cant think of 25GB to put on the discs in one go and, unlike DVD, the drives support media managment.

I only have one piece of Panny 50GB RE DL, burned in older GGW-H10L my PS3 won't recognize the disc.

I thought I read The Kiper and 2601 said they have no playback problem when burning with GGW-H20L.

I have a bunch of 25GB BD-R and RE's. I also have 2 BD-RE's, 50 GB, but I refuse to buy 50 GB-BD-R's until the price comes down to a reasonable level.

Yeah at $28 a pop I wasn't to keen on buying the BD-R DL's either but they are for use in reviews so it's all good.

I have one (yes, one) Verbatim 2x BD-R disc. That's it.

Do I get the award for crappiest/smallest amount?

That is one nice stash, MegaDETH

Haha sorry you don't get an award

I was just lucky in a few eBay auctions where no one bid, but who knows by the time I get to use them the price may have dropped, then you can laugh at me

I do not remember burning anything to the Panny DL disc yet; I did not use it for the GGW-H20L review anyways.

Guess I could burn a DL BD movie to it and give it a try

Re: Show us you Blank Blu-Ray Media Stash!

I'm so tempted to pick up some BD-R media, despite not having a drive to use them in. They're about $14-15CAD for a 25GB disc (I've looked on eBay, and the shipping kills whatever deal there is).

Does anyone agree with me in saying that the high price is a premium that almost guarantees quality media?

Think about it - at this stage, most brands are actually manufacturing their own media, which entails higher quality control (as opposed to letting an outsourcer manufacturer the media). I believe that this was the same case with CD-R and DVD-R (right now, there's all this business with the same MID to several brands, along with varying quality).

Re: Show us you Blank Blu-Ray Media Stash!

Panasonic is probably the biggest manufacture of BD media right now.

just don't buy LG, Memorex (made in USA) and sony media.

LG, currently is made in Korea, not sure if i would trust those
Memorex made in USA, has rather bad compability, Made in Japan Memorex is made by Panasonic
Sony media, only tried 2x media, it actually in my case only burned at 1.7x, while other 2x media burns around 2.0-2.1x

Re: Show us you Blank Blu-Ray Media Stash!

Hard to say if Sony is bad or not just because it doesn't burn at 2x on one drive.

I guess in my next review we will get another look at what it can do.

I have some of those MIJ Memorex, they are rare now I think.

Bought the Memorex BD-RE Made in USA knowing what they were, just for testing of course

What about the TDK? Good or bad reports?

Nice Zevi, I can tell by the color on those Memorex's that most of them are MIJ
