Blu-ray and HD DVD Hardware, Software and Blank Media Discuss, Recording format of the new Hitachi Blu-Ray camcorder at International Chat: High Definition forum; It records at 1920x1080 resolution - but at what frame rate? 1080i? 1080P@24fps? 1080p@30fps? 1080p@60fps? -> I sure hope that it can record at this format! And what's the difference between the AVCHD codec and the "regular" AVC (this camcorder uses AVC)? Is it only the maximum bitrate

Recording format of the new Hitachi Blu-Ray camcorder

And what's the difference between the AVCHD codec and the "regular" AVC (this camcorder uses AVC)? Is it only the maximum bitrate being used?

The article about the camcorder directs to that forum thread - not here!
So please decide where you want the relevant posts...

Thanks.
1920x1080/60Hz - does it necessary mean 60 progressive frames per second? Or could it also mean interlaced?

very nice. If/when price is reasonable, I'm in. But according to PDF, you can only dub from HDD to BD but NOT from HDD to DVD? That's weird. Or maybe I did not read it correctly.

Re: Recording format of the new Hitachi Blu-Ray camcorder

Ignore my previous irrational comment. Why/how would anybody dub HD content onto less spacious DVD discs? LOL @ me.

I suppose I was thinking if you had the option of recording standard definition video - why would you not be able to dub to DVD?

:-)
