Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

Thanks for the heads up.

In answer to a previous question - no it does not seem to be able to play HD-DVD rips from the hard disk. Was the first thing I tried :P

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

It will play mounted ISOs so long as there is no BD+ protection, however.

why use powerdvd to play ripped content? I can play the m2ts, ts, evo (after converting dd+ to normal ac3) all in WMP11.

WMP11 even has better image quality then PowerDVD.

I personally am using Media Player Classic to play all my evo files after conversion

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

I have PowertoDVDUltra and when I installed the update I had audio sync problems on regular dvds, they played fine on VLC and Showtime4, and WMP, but not on PTDU 3730. I went back to V3104 and all is well.

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

i only use PowerDVD ultra to playback original blu-ray or hd-dvd movies. after rip i never bother with powerdvd.

PQ in WMP11 is also better.

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

Just to confirm, the new PDVD update can still playback ripped DVD's from hard drives but NOT HD DVD's or BR, correct?

I just want to confirm that this is also my experience, as well, with 3730. I hadn't watched a regular DVD in a while but did last night and it was out of sync. Ended up using my PS3 for playback instead. They really need to get their **** together on this program. I'm truly getting sick of the constant bugs and weeks between releases. God knows when they'll get this bug fixed. I guess it's time to open a support issue on this one.

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

I wanted to update this audio sync issue. Customer support told me to uninstall PowerDVD, remove all registry entries in both current_user and local_machine trees that pertain to PowerDVD, and remove any folders that contain PowerDVD on the hard drive. Reboot after that. Update your video and audio drivers. Then reinstall PowerDVD 3730. This seems to have worked for me so far. I've only tested it with the one disc I was having problems with, but, it corrected the sync problems. Anyway, if you're having the audio sync problem with 3730 and regular DVD's, give this a shot and see what happens.

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

I don't have audio sync problem. And I'm installing the 3730 together with 3319a in my HTPC. Both work fine.

Re: PowerDVD Ultra update v3730

You've tried playing regular SD DVD's? Cause that's the only place the audio problem showed up. HD DVD's and Blu-ray were fine. And the instructions I was sent seemed to fix the problem. A very clean reinstall was all I apparently needed.
