are philips dl dvd any good?

are philips dl dvd any good? if not why will they skip....i want to put a blueray movie onto them....what brand should i only stick to

The Philips DL DVDs are of questionable quality: The discs could have Ritek or CMC codes; in the DL media, the Riteks generally have more compatibility issues than CMC's, which in turn aren't as compatible with as many burners as MKM (Verbatim). Your best bet would be Verbatim-branded DL DVD media (however variable in quality).

1. Philips DL is a waste. Get Verbatim.
2. You first need to buy a BD drive to be able to rip a BD mocvie to hdd. THEN you can burn the backup to DL or BD...
