Over 1k, and the blank is over $30 a pop. But hey, stand alone player costs over 1k if you look at it that way. I know for sure I will not be among the first group of people jumping on this drive.

You bet. For $1000, I expect more than one 15-cent green LED.

I'm getting tired of all these pre-announcements, announcements and re-announcements, and show appearances and publicity photos of a 2x drive we won't see for another two months. Sure, they'd rather have people wait for their drive and not buy the Pioneer BD drive that is already available, but this six-month vaporware announcement cycle is getting ridiculous.

Il pourra bien évidemment lire tous ces formats.
What happened to DVD-Ram support ???

Re: New: BenQ BW1000 Trio Blu-Ray

I'll let HD-DVD duke it out with Blu-Ray and I will buy the survivor. Now it is gonna be a waste of money on anything since we know it that both format will not coexist. Both formats will be good for data backup and HD Movies as well, but one will be terminated to keep the other in existence. Currently I am leaning towards blu-ray because of my anticpation on the PS3 and more and more studios going with blu-ray.
