| My first HD recorder will be a JVC. Yes, I'm going to buy a JVC HD recorder and it won't be a Blu-ray and it won't be an AOD either. JVC was the first to commercialize HD recorders using D-VHS and HD camera which still costs about US$2,000. The D-VHS unit costs around US$500 in North America but the price is somewhat closer to US$800 in South Korean market. JVC Korea does not look interested in lowering the price any further here. The HD camera costs here over US$3,000. Both LG and Samsung have had HD recorders since the early 2000s, but none of them is available to the public. They'll probably release them to retail when the manufacturing cost per unit comes down to US$100.
