Lite-On DH-401S can read Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) game discs - Page 2 - Club CDFreaks

Signed up so i can ask this fearing no one would ask.

What happens if you boot up the game using an original, while on pause or while it's on a menu screen, eject the original and put the backup in, does the game carry on?

This will prove the game data, structure etc is correct and indeed a boot structure.hack or something will be needed.

Very nice. Like the old LG DVD-ROM drives that can read Wii discs. I wonder if this drive also is able to read Wii discs or is this a totally different thing? I know PS3 is BD and Wii is DVD but anyway, it could be....

I tried that with Lost Planet burned onto a BD-RE media, and it did not work.

The Lite-On DH-401S was not able to read the WII game that I have here available (Ice Age2).

nope, only a few games like FOLKLORE, NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA and many others are blu ray.

At least all of my PS3 games are on Blu-ray media.

Hi Guys, great forum topic....I'm curious, just bought a PS3 80GB which is somewhat backwards compatible. I understand the difficulty in copying a PS3 Blu Ray game disc but what about PS1 and 2 games? Can it only be done with a mod chip? and how do i grab one of them? TIA ;-)
