Had the drive about 3 days now. All was working great and I managed to rip Blu-Rays, burn some DVD's etc. Then I tried burning a DL-DVD and it crashed half way through. Rebooted PC Now it will not read Blu-Rays or HD DVD's with the error message "Disc not formatted"

WTF?

I tried checking LG's site for a firmware update in case this fixed the problem and all I get is error messages saying "file not present" - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Help much appreciated.

Any DVD and Power DVD also fail to see the disc - they were before

What kind of disc in the drive? Can you check with other discs or blank disc.

Also, please check in your Device Manager if your drive is listed.

I am guessing it's a software conflict due to windows crash.

Anything other than HD or Blu Rays work. The drive is listed in the Device manager and I have uninstalled Any DVD and all other CD / DVD drive related SW. I have also installed the latest FW

Had a similar experience here. DVD or CD works fine (haven't tried BR yet) but the two DL-DVD (+R 8x Verbatim) i tried to burn crashed some MB into the burn.
