Re: How To Copy Blu Ray Hd-Dvd's?

blu-ray and HD are two different formats. i assume your question is about blu-ray?

do you have a blu-ray reader/writer for your computer yet? that would be the first step along with purchasing blank blu-ray media which is technically out, but i think we're looking as around $15 per disc.

after that i'm not sure if there's even any software available to rip these. none that i know of.

yes since blu-ray seems to be the better of the 2 formats

how much is a blu-ray reader writer at the present time?

I have to believe someone will come out with a decrypter of some kind for the blu-ray discs?

Re: How To Copy Blu Ray Hd-Dvd's?

i have no idea. the very first standalone blu-ray players that you hook up to your tv were in the best buy ads this week for about $999 so i guess you can extrapolate from that.

i found blank blu-ray media at supermediastore for $20 per disc...i guess i was lowballing on the $15 estimate. these discs are 1x-2x rated.

rushing to get all the equipment now would be a waste since i'm not aware of any software that exists yet to deal with blu-ray (someone pelase correct me if I'm wrong about this)

also, it's been announced that blu-ray discs themselves will be priced within 10% of current dvd prices so for the time being it would certainly cheaper to just BUY doubles of titles rather than back them up yourself.

the pricing tructures are bound to change quickly though especially since this is such a new media.

I would wait a little while. People rushing to fast to buy the lastest greatest thing. I think you will see player's that will support both formats. We don't need another Betamax story.

You can play BluRay through your PS3 if you have one. No point buying a standalone BluRay player yet. Save your money and get a BluRay player/recorder when they are available.

Up to date but if it should reflect back 2 yrs??? Maybe a new thread would be more appropriate......to address the question.
