Re: Does Blu-Ray use a fixed or variable spindle speed?

I saw those links on blu-raydisc.com but didn't find the answer.

I'm just wondering if the constant transfer rate is achieved by varying the spindle speed or by varying the bit density.

Re: Does Blu-Ray use a fixed or variable spindle speed?

As in CD and DVD, the CLV (constant linear velocity) is achived by varying rotational velocity (RPM) as head moves from center toward the end of disc, or vise versa.

Is that what you're asking?
