can this drive backup my blu-ray discs to my hard drive using dvd hd decrypter?? and if so can i then play them back from the hard drive?? do i need any specific program to playback the movies or will the pioneer drive come with the software.

If the blu-ray discs is copy-protected, you will be better off using AnyDVD HD.

The package includes PowerDVD 7.3 (2CH) to playback. But I'm not sure if this version allows you to playback from harddrive. The one I know that can playback the movie (with menu, sound and subtitle selection) from harddrive is PowerDVD Ultra 7.3.3119a and it supports multi channel audio (7.1CH).
