in my opinion it's strange that the top part of the drive itself looks a bit different from the picture of the drive on the box.

Even the press picture from Lite-On also looks different compared with the ”real drive”.

No it has a (green) LED, but it is hardly visible when it is not in usage. In the attached picture you can see where the LED is located.

Thanks, a blue led would be a better choice.
