Re: CDFreaks presents: ASUS BC-1205PT Blu-ray ROM DVD-Writer Review

From the bezel's emergency hole, led and eject button; and the casing, it looks like Pioneer BDC-S02BK OEM.

Thanks for the thorough review, The Kipper.

Now this really interests me, as of now I do not have a BD ROM or writer, these review will be critical on my choices. I hope other that have these drive will chime in here when they get them. This is getting better everyday.

Re: CDFreaks presents: ASUS BC-1205PT Blu-ray ROM DVD-Writer Review

Is it just me or does this Blu ray ROM drive seem to write with funny jitter?

Sometimes it's quite distorted and other times dead flat - it also seems to show clear changes in jitter when there's a speed change. It could potentially be extremely good at writing with low jitter onto DVDs.

I'd love to know if it's actually a Pioneer Blu ray ROM in disguise and also how some lower speed burns (8x) perform.

It has the exact same specs as the Pioneer BDC-202 drive, but I have no idea if it is a rebadge.

This one or the lite on drive is what I am looking at of course right now only going for a reader so the lite on is better on the money but surprised there isn't much talk about them yet?
