Blu-ray data integrity features?

I was reading an article about backing up etc (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...2212540,00.asp) and the reviewer mentioned that one should not trust optical media due to lack of data integrity features, and i have unfortunately run into this problem a few times. He did say "The exception to this rule is DVD-RAM. DVD-RAM has a number of features built into the media to ensure data integrity." So i was wondering about blu-ray and data integrity features (if any) does anyone know about that part of the Blu-ray specification? Any thoughts/insight would really be appreciated!

Cheers

Re: Blu-ray data integrity features?

It is done by default depending on the used burn app.
