See here the ultimate reason for checking your blank BD-Rs for fingerprints. I burned this media yesterday and found the drive having troubles at 18GB, first I thought it's simply a media problem, but once the drive failed the burn and the disc has been ejected I found the real reason and my BD-R was "BD Labelflashed"
